Honoring Mad-eye Moody

Smartphone location is sometimes dead wrong. Like this one time Jenna was just in Utah going from one city to another. And her phone told her she was in Africa. Or was it South America. The point is, she wasn't really enjoying the weather forecast she was being informed about. Hmm, I wish I could go to South Africa. To see Seal Island with its great white sharks. Apparently only possible by phone confusion.

Yesterday, when I got to work, my phone told me I was in Moody Creek. Firstly, I don't even know what or where that is, so how could I actually BE there? Sitting behind a desk, I felt like my phone wanted me to be sitting on a bank with my feet in the freezing, glittering water. Obviously, Moody Creek was named to honor Mad-eye Moody and his wonderful role in the wizarding world. A tribute from the United States. And how I got there? Apparently I happened upon the secret magical entrance. Except I don't even know what the entrance was or is!

But don't worry, somehow I got out. It wasn't a trap. At least not for me.

A Surprise!!!!

Hey all! And by all I mostly mean Stephi, because this is not Stephi.

That was the only surprise I had planned. But lets see what else I can update the Bowman-lovers on.

Well, in celebration of Shark Week I moved to Draper, UT. Because everyone knows Draper is the epicenter of Shark Week fanatics. Ok, not really. But I did move. Yesterday we finally got all of our pictures hung in our new apartment and it looks really cute and homey. I am really going to enjoy it here. Not to mention the fact that we are located downtown right between two shopping centers and two grocery stores. Mmmmm, Food.

Also, I am still in search of my internship. But I may have found something. I'll let you know how it all plays out, but for now I was given the assignment of writing an article on the trends and benefits of barriatrics. That is not a typo. Barriatrics refers to medical weight loss, so things like tummy tucks and stomach staples. Things I have no clue about. So researching for it is going to be a bit intense.

I have a confession to make. I have never actually read this blog yet. So I don't really know what the style of this blog is. Hopefully, the fact that we are sisters will aid me to blend well.

Anyway. I am going to read the blog now. And then learn about barriatrics. Fun times!!

The Best Week of the Year

Happy Shark Week, everyone!

It's one of my favorite things, and I look forward to it again and again. What can I say, I'm kind of a nerd; but it's the best kind of nerd to be, let's be honest about that.

Sharks are so fascinating! They are amazing in every way: their anatomy, their senses, their shear power. I mean, wow. No wonder the Discovery Channel gives them a whole week all to themselves every year. Plus, who isn't fascinated with the ocean? Have you ever stood on a beach and just looked out across the never-ending ocean to the horizon and felt a universe of wonder fill you? Beneath that whole expanse is a mystery. It's full of majestic, beautiful, and strange creatures. Even its geography is mesmerizing. Okay, I got a little carried away. Moving on.

I've had the unfortunate experience of missing Shark Week for the last two years. Believe me, it was agonizing both times. I shouldn't complain too much since I was at jump rope camp and such, but still. Lucky me, I have nothing to distract from it this year. Except for the fact that I presently have no cable or satellite. But don't worry because I am quite capable of using the internet and spending many an hour on the Shark Week website.

Today, I had an epiphany there. It went a little something like this: why on earth have I not thought about getting a Shark Week shirt? You understand my silliness up to this point. So I am quite resolved to acquiring one at this time in my life. I've discussed the matter thoroughly with Jenna via text messaging and it's decided. We are getting Shark Week t-shirts. End of story. Can't wait till we get them!

Until then, I'll occupy myself by watching Sharkman. And perhaps you should go enjoy some Air Jaws or something. Air Jaws is definitely favorite.
